Jelly Filled Butter Cookies

The Great Thing about Jam: It has SO many uses.
Today I tried my hand at making Jelly cookies and I must admit, they're not bad.

You can use any butter cookie recipe for this delectable dessert.
(In a few days I might have to post my Great Grandma's Recipe for Butter Cookies, she was known all over our home town for the best butter cookies.)

 Once you have made your dough,
roll it into small 1" balls and place 2" apart on baking sheet.

 Use your finger or a small spoon
(I used a round 1/2 tsp measuring spoon)
and press into the center of each dough ball.
The edges of the dough will crack and that's okay.

Once all the dough balls have been "welled" they should look like this.

Next place 1/2 tsp of any flavor preserves you like.  Today I used Peach and Blueberry.

Bake the cookies at 375° for 10 minutes or
until the bottoms of the cookies are slightly golden brown.
Place on wire rack to cool
and sprinkle with powdered sugar
using a sifter or colander.
Cool and enjoy.
