Christmas Quilt (in process)

A quilt for every season.  This is my goal.  I've searched and searched ideas and I've finally settled on a winter quilt.  My husband bought me a bird feeder last year for Christmas, I was 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time and spent a lot of my time on the sofa looking into the backyard.  Ever since he put that bird feeder up my back yard has been filled with cardinals.  I Love These Birds!  So I themed my Christmas quilt after them.

The bird, pinecones, pineleaves, and branch are all appliqued.  He even has a blue french knot for an eye.  This is one of 4 bird blocks, the other6 blocks will be different, I just haven't decided yet what they will look like.  I look forward to having this one done before Christmas.
